After reading the book Angela's Ashes I feel that the title "Angela's Ashes" failed to symbolized any of the deeper meaning which can be taken from the book. Upon first reading the title I had thought that the book would be about how Franks mother pases away and how he struggles to deal with it. However, the title merely refers to the ashes that Angela leaves behind after smoking her cigarettes. One could infer that these ashes represent the deteriorating state of her family status. As the cigarette burns out so do the last hopes that she and her family will be able to pullout of their situation.

A title not so fit for a book
